Hon. Dr. Patrick Herminie

 
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Dr. Patrick Herminie, was elected to the Assembly for the first time in 1993 as the directly elected representative of the district of English River.

Hon. Dr. Herminie went on to be elected as the Member for English River, once again in 1998 and in 2003. In 1998, Hon. Dr. Herminie was designated as the Leader of Government Business in the Assembly. In June 2007, Hon. Dr. Herminie was elected to the Assembly on a proportional basis, and in May 2007 was elected by the Members of the National Assembly to the post of Speaker of the National Assembly.
